THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE
Students Are Surrounded by People and Still Feel Lonely
Student isolation is a widespread issue affecting mental health, social connection, and academic success, with two-thirds of college students reporting feelings of loneliness. Online programs carry a particular weight of it. Students log in, see names on the screen, and never quite connect with each other.
For working professionals already stretched between jobs, families, and coursework, that distance compounds quietly until the program feels like something to get through rather than somewhere to belong.
The consequences are measurable. Isolated students are less engaged, less motivated, and more likely to leave.
Most institutions recognize the problem. What they lack is an intervention that fits inside a student's actual life and changes how students relate to each other day to day.

Making Connection a Daily Practice
The Gamechangers Challenge breaks connection behaviors into small, doable actions through a mobile app that meets student where they are.
Over 30 days, students notice and share daily wins and moments of gratitude, connect with peers they might never have met otherwise, acknowledge each other's efforts and stories, and reflect on how they show up for the people around them.
Small actions, practiced together, socially shared deepen awareness, improve wellbeing, and generate belonging.

What happens when you give online students a New Way to connect?
In 2025, Florida International University’s Professional MBA Online program launched the Real Connections Challenge to augment its new student onboarding.
We've analyzed the impact data across six consecutive cohorts. 327 working professionals. A 30-day micro-reflection program built around one idea: that meaningful human connection doesn't require big time investments — it requires small, consistent actions.
From strangers to real relationships
Every participant started Day 1 knowing no one. By Day 30, they averaged 4–6 new connections.
